The “small crown” 6217-8000s were only made for two months, April and May of 1965. This lovely survivor has gotten everything - full movement service, new crystal, and I rebuilt the original Seiko-signed crown with new gaskets.  Movement is running beautifully, strong & clean in the 270s and zero beat error.  It’s got a new hour wheel and canon pinion on top of the full service.   All the lume is original.  Handset is an original Seiko service set, with original lume. Rotating ring and insert are original (though not original to this watch) and shows wear and loss around the edges from corrosion. The bezel turns smoothly with a nice amount of friction hold, even all the way around.  Case is nice - no pitting or moisture damage.  It shows wear but no abuse.

• Original orange-text 6217a movement is fully serviced and running great. Amplitudes in the 260s and 270s, flat and clean with zero beat error.

• New hour wheel and cannon pinion

• Genuine original Seiko replacement 62mas handset (hour, minute, sweep second) with original lume

• Dial lume is all original and in very good condition. Dial surface is excellent and original.

• SEIKO applied logo is very clean and sharp

• Marker tops show some hazing from humidity over the years, but no corrosion. Minor peppery plating loss that need magnification to see.

• Case fully cleaned, with no pitting or corrosion damage. All sealing surfaces are intact.

• Case is in original polish, with good case edges and original brushing. Dolphin caseback

• New crystal with original tension ring

• Original rotating ring showing wear and loss to the insert from water exposure and wear from use, but legible and clean. I relumed the pip with my VintaLume, and it glows at the same amount as the original lume.

• Original signed SEIKO crown is fully rebuilt with new gaskets (these have two).
