Seiko 7123-8149 from March 1979
This is a very special watch, but I don’t ever wear it so I’m hoping someone will give it a good home and lots of wrist time. This 7123-8149 used to be a family friend’s watch before he passed away. He was a WWII vet that fought at Normandy and once he was back he got a job as an engineer with HP. He gave me this watch before he died, but like I said, I never wear it.
I did a lot of work on this watch to make it as perfect as I can. I’ve upgraded it with a 7124 temperature compensation circuit, making it into a Grand Quartz (High Accuracy Quartz) HAQ movement. The watch is all metal and has two jewels. It has a variable trimmer so along with the temperature compensation the watch is incredibly accurate.
If you would like to read more on temperature compensation, here is a Worn and Wound article on it

This really is a great watch and hard to find. If you want an incredibly accurate vintage quartz watch, this is the one for you.
