Seiko 6139-6002 Aussie Pogue, full serviced, upgraded to 18 jewels
Seiko 6139-6002 Aussie Pogue, full serviced, upgraded to 18 jewels
This is an Aussie Pogue from March 1977. These variants were with a gold dial and black indicator ring. From observations of original examples (there are many) and also the unique advertising material that I have, these appear to have been marketed in Australia, SE Asia, etc.
The original dial and hands are in very good condition, down to the lume. The dial is the dark amber honey of the later years, and without any of the patina spotting that the gold dials are prone to. Hand surfaces are good with minor hazing. Indicator ring is slightly faded but quite presentable. Case finish is original.
While this model did come on a president-style Stelux bracelet, this one didn’t have it. I have put the watch on an Uncle Seiko Taper H-link, solid stainless.

6138B movement fully serviced and restored
Movement upgraded with lower mainspring arbor jewel.
New mainspring installed
The watch is a sock drawer special. It stayed in the dark for a long time. The hands still glow a bit, but not for long. Dial glow fades almost immediately. All are genuine and original, not relumed. All other lume is original as well, but doesn’t not glow nearly as much.
