Seiko 7002-7009 w/ 6R15 movement, one-of-a-kind mod, fully serviced!
This is a piece I’ve had for many years. Someone did a real number on the movement (and the case but nothing deadly there), but the beautifully patinated lume demanded a solution. Rather than just put another 7002 movement in, since the watch was destined for my own watch box, I decided to have fun and solve a problem at the same time. I figured out how to fit a 7002 date wheel on a 6R15C movement, which as far as I know hasn’t been done before.
Made in May, 1988
Beautiful original lume on the dial, hands, and insert. Really nice patina and character.
Fully serviced 6R15C movement, which I modified to work with the 7002 datewheel.
NOS crystal installed
Case fully cleaned
All new seals
Signs of wear, and also signs of the previous owner who did superficial damage to one part of the edge of the caseback, and the case. Both are visual only; no functional issues around the caseback gasket.
All functions work exactly as they should, as the movement was serviced by me this past week.
Hacks, hand-winds, timed & adjusted.
No box / papers
Head only.
