Seiko 7C43-7010 150m diver, Star of my 754x vs 7C4x video! Fully serviced, April 1988
This watch is a star of my compare / contrast video series - here is Part 1: https://youtu.be/QTgpU0Ipev8
Dial is original to the watch. Dial surface is excellent, as is the printed text. “Professional” text is faded to a mustard color.
The lume was overpainted during some long-ago servicing by an old school watch guy, instead of reluming. The original lume is under this tan paint but is darkened from moisture exposure. I did look at trying to remove the tan paint but nothing I was willing to try moved it at all. Rather than potentially harm the dial, I left it as it was.
Hands - these are the original hands to this watch. The aforementioned mystery old school watchsmith also “restored” them, overpainting them with a weird putty color with white framing. I stripped off that stuff revealing the gun-blacked hands still there and good. I restored the handset to stock by hand. Hand lume glows enough to read, but not enough to look green in daylight.
Movement - quartz chronograph Caliber 7C43 - fully serviced this past January. Restoration was filmed, so check that out.
Case Material - Stainless Steel. All case finishes are original, everything. Front, back, sides, top, caseback. It saw a working life, but no abuse
Insert is genuine Seiko, condition chosen to match the rest of the watch. Insert is original.
Crystal is an NOS replacement Hardlex.
Case fully serviced with new seals installed in a fully cleaned assembly.
Caseback has a mark for a battery change in 1991. Same original unpolished finish as the rest of the watch case - see photos and video.
Head only, but comes with two brand-new NOS Seiko-made non-shoulder “fat” bars.
Shipping: Worldwide shipping, barring shipments & sales to the UK due to the new VAT rules
