Seiko "Super 6105" - custom KVW build - "Lucky 7" - Daily driver
I like making custom 6105s, and this is the 7th “Super 6105” I’ve made. I build these slowly as random or orphaned parts come in, sometimes over many years. They’re meant to be worry-free daily wear watches, not safe queens. Besides the KVW Type II crystal, every part is genuine Seiko.
Movement is a custom-built Seiko 6319, with two diafix settings in the train bridge, and both upper & lower mainspring arbor jewels, and a 6306 hacking lever. A feature of my “Super 6105” builds, I choose these higher-grade movements from the 6309 family based on condition and quality. Fully serviced by me like two months ago. I personally wrist-tested this watch for a week.
Original 6105 dial and hands, relumed by IWW / Jack Thayer like a decade ago. Beautifully done, stock look, with a steady & even glow. Readable easily at night.
