Seiko 6119-8101 MAC-V SOG with documented Vietnam history, fully restored
The classic MAC-V, the 6119, the prime model type used for these recon-issued timepieces. This example came from the family of the original owner. The watch was worn in-country during the Vietnam war, and shows extensive wear to the outside, as well as dial damage from a crystal broken during its service time.
6119B movement is fully & freshly serviced, and upgraded with upper & lower mainspring arbor jewels. Movement daywheel language is English (these “B” movements are one-language).
Dial is original with intact lumed markers. Lume shows marking and patina spotting from moisture exposure during the war.
The original handset was missing, and I replaced them with correct original Seiko-made period production hands that I relumed to match the dial. Hand lume glows legibly at night so the watch can be read in the dark again.
NOS crystal
Case shows extensive wear to the plating on the case edges.
Stainless caseback is in good condition with a minor dent that does not impede the correct functioning of the automatic winding.
