LeJour 7500 "Poor Man's Heuer" chronograph w/ Valjoux 7750, fully serviced & ready to wear
This is a fully restored one-owner LeJour 7750, made by Heuer. The original owner loved this watch and wore it a lot.
The LeJour brand began as a French distributor of fine Swiss watches in the early 1960s, and eventually started selling watches under its own name a few years later. The company has been recognized for its sporty chronographs due to its time spent as a distributor for Heuer in Europe and Yema in the United States.
These “Poor Man’s Heuer” models were sold in the late 70s and into the 1980s, often from catalogs for camera equipment. Powered by the incomparable Valjoux 7750 17j automatic mechanical chronograph movement, these are rock-solid, dependable, durable, and accurate, with pure Heuer style.
Valjoux 7750 movement is fully serviced and comes with our standard six-month warranty
Movement winds by hand and also automatically, and hacks with the crown as it should.
All functions work as they should - all registers reset to zero correctly & smoothly. Day/date turns over at midnight.
Case rebuilt with new gaskets and crown
Case finish is worn on the high spots and case edges - it appears to be more of a parkerized finish than PVD - it is very hard & thin, like bluing more than an applied coating. Caseback is definitely anodized.
All case sealing surfaces are good & clean.
Crystal is original to the watch and has marks, but visually is clear with any flaws not impacting the legibility of the watch. Please see photographs.
All but two of the lume markers are missing, having probably come loose and getting removed during a previous servicing. The two remaining markers are a light tan/brown. I relumed the hour & minute hands, and used a glowing lume so the watch is readable at night. Daylight color of the lume matches the dial lume.
