Seiko 6139-6005 'True Pogue', Feb '71, fully serviced, Stelux bracelet
This is an all-original ‘True Pogue’, of the same exact model as Col. Pogue’s own Seiko 6139. It is an early example; these were made from the end of January 1971 through April 1972. The first months of production had the watches built with the 6139A movement and one-piece main sweep hand. Col. Pogue wore his 6139 in orbit on board Skylab, along with his NASA-issued Omega Speedmaster. He kept one set to Houston, and the other to his home.
Fully serviced True Pogue made in February 1971. This watch is original and original to itself.
Correct early-make 6139A movement upgraded with upper & lower mainspring arbor jewels
All lume original. Hand lume excellent, dial lume shows a bit of patina, same for the indicator ring pip.
Dial is a light yellow gold with a lighter band around the subdial. No oxidation spots or marks
Dial printing is clear and intact
Chronograph hands are original with excellent paint
Indicator ring rotates through 360º
Day / Date quickset works correctly, and day/date switches over as they should
Genuine Seiko Type 1 ‘Flat’ 330WGN00 crystal is in very good original condition - great clarity. It has a few small marks but for an early rarer type crystal it’s almost immaculate
