Seiko 6139-7060 Automatic Chronograph, old restoration, unserviced, June 1976
This is a Seiko 6139-7060 automatic chronograph from June 1976. I serviced this watch for a customer more than a decade ago or more. He had me relume the watch at that time. Later on he traded it in against another watch. While I did service it many years ago, it will need to be serviced to be wearable.
6139B movement is functional, intact, without any water or moisture damage. It is a runner. It’s unknown if the mainspring arbor ports have been worked on; at the time I serviced this watch I didn’t yet have those sets of jewels made. It may have a lower mainspring arbor bushing, or it might be unmodified.
All chronograph hands are original. Chronograph sweep hand is slightly faded when compared the minute-counter hand, but it’s still nice and orange
Dial printing is clean and sharp. Orange minute track section on dial is slightly faded.
Dial and hands have been relumed.
Indicator ring turns through 360º as it should. Crown & stem are intact and functional.
Daywheel language is French / English. Daywheel is slightly misaligned upwards. This can be corrected during a service.
Case has been repolished but it was a decent job. Caselines are softened, top brushing has been redone. Watch looks nice though.
Crystal is a KVW replacement installed during the previous service.
Sold as-is, all sales final, watch is unserviced.
