Seiko 4006-6071 Bell-matic, military dial configuration
Seiko 4006-6071 Bell-matic, military dial configuration
This Bell-matic is an unusual one. This is one of the models where Seiko produced both civilian-dialed models as well others with Arabic-numbered dials, such as the MAC-V-SOG 6119s, 6106s, and 7005s. Something supporting this theory is the final digit of the casing number: 1. I’ve often observed that where a military origin can be confirmed, that number 1 will be there. Other numbers are 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9. 5 & 9 are North America, with 9 being N. America including Canada. 0 is JDM and also “world”. I believe 1 to be the US military PX system. 2 is SE Asia, Australia etc, and also Europe & Great Britain. 7 seems to correspond to N. America sometimes but primarily latin America.
