Instant Collection! All five original Seiko watch models used in "Aliens"
As far as I know, I have the only complete collection of all five known watch models used in the movie, “Aliens”.
I finished this collection a good number of years ago, but they’ve just been sitting in the safe, and we have other things we’d like to do.
“Ripley” Seiko 7A28-7000, March 1984. Watch entirely original with a more than full-length bracelet, new crystal, rebuilt with new seals, movement serviced. Buttons are the yellow ones painted black, however. I do have a set of black 3D printed buttons but they need work to be usable.
“Bishop” Seiko 7A28-6000, October 1983. Watch is entirely original down to the crystal. Crystal and case show wear. Movement I did service, but a good number of years ago. Typical wear on the PVD on the high points and bracelet / clasp. All functions work.
“Burke” Seiko H558-5050, January 1983. Entirely original to itself, including the crystal. Crystal shows wear. All functions work.
“Colonial Marines” Seiko S234-5010 - black w/yellow buttons. The Colonial Marines watches were modified for the movie - all branding painted over, all buttons painted black if they were yellow. Officially, the watch used was the all-black model, but yellow-button models were used, as certain shots show the black paint over the buttons wearing through to yellow. This one is mostly functional - the display is light, and the alarm is intermittent at best. I haven’t taken time to look at it.
“Colonial Marines” Seiko S234-501A, all-black model, June 1984. This one is nice, complete with the caseback sticker. Very rare piece, the all-black is extremely hard to find. All functions work.
