Seiko 6105-8119 Transitional, long-sweep early piece, original lume & finish
Seiko 6105-8119 Transitional, long-sweep early piece, original lume & finish
This is an early N. American 6105-8119, made for the short period between the “proof/proof” models and the later “resist” models with their short sweep hands. Much less common than the later short-sweep “resist” models, in addition to being the N. American variant (“9” as the final digit rather than “0” which is the world variant). Fully serviced with my standard warranty in place.
Made in March 1971
Beautiful original lume on the dial and hands. Exquisite undamaged dial lume especially.
Applied “SEIKO” logo has some peppering on the frosted surface
Minor signs of handling / servicing on the hands.
Insert is original with minor signs of wear at the same level as the rest of the exterior of the watch
Pip is mostly original lume - some of it was missing and the rest was in danger of being lost, so I patched the pip with newer lume. The repair glows more than the original lume.
Fully serviced 6105B movement, upgraded with both upper and lower mainspring arbor jewels
Crystal is genuine Seiko, a later service Type III Flat. It has a few marks on it but I’ve left it because it’s original. If the buyer wants I can swap in a new KVW Type II at no extra cost.
Case fully cleaned. No corrosion or damage to any sealing surfaces.
All new seals
Crown rebuilt with a new seal.
Signs of wear, but no abuse. Good clean brushing on the case, beautiful caseback with nice deep stamping
All functions work exactly as they should, as the movement was serviced by me.
Hacks, hand-winds, timed & adjusted.
No box / papers
Head only.
