Seiko 6139-6012 Chronograph, now with NOS Tachy ring & bezel & crystal!
Original, functionally restored Seiko 6139-6012 from March 1971.
I just upgraded this watch from the original listing - it now has an NOS genuine Seiko tachy ring, right out of the Seiko-marked packet. I also replaced the bezel with NOS genuine Seiko, also right out of the packet. Lastly, I put in a genuine Seiko “Type I flat” 330W18GN00 crystal - Three rare parts!
The first picture with the watch on the black strap is how it looks now. All the other shots are representative of the dial and hand condition, as well as the mid-case and caseback finish. Bezel and crystal and tachy ring have been changed.
Black dial in very good shape
Original dial and lume - a few small marks (10 marker, 5 marker)
Original tomato red chronograph hands - some minor loss to the tip of the minute-counter hand
Movement is fully and freshly serviced. It didn’t need anything beyond a full servicing, and the typical jeweling of the lower mainspring arbor port, and repair to the upper mainspring arbor bushing. The rest of the movement was excellent, with one previous servicing.
Case in good original polish, including nice top brushing. Not immaculate, but not abused at all. Entirely original.
Case rebuild with all new seals. All sealing surfaces are excellent.
Watch is head-only - Larry at uncleseiko.com sells nice “train track” bracelets for this model.
