Seiko 3863-7059 from January 1974
Seiko 3863-7059 from January 1974
This Seiko 3863-7059 from January 1974 is a really cool find! It is a Quartz 3003, which was one of the early high end quartzes Seiko made in the 1970s. It was an expensive watch when it was made because it has one of the better movements. The movement is beautiful and has hand soldered circuits. The crystal is an NOS genuine Seiko faceted crystal and Seiko just brought back the faceted crystals in their newer models.
The case has the original polish and has all original case lines. While it was definitely someone’s daily wearer, the case lines are sharp and the watch was not abused. There is an inscription on the back that says “No. 3 From Mom and Dad 1977”. All of the lume is original and perfect. The dial and hands are excellent. The watch is fully serviced with new seals. It also has a new battery. The bracelet is the correct original solid stainless steel to the watch, but is short at about 6.5-6.75”.
