Seiko 5126-8080 May 1968, True Poor Man's 62mas, fully serviced, all original!

$875.00

True ‘Poor Man’s 62mas’ - this model was produced after the end of the 62mas 6217-8001 run, and Seiko used 62mas dial blanks for this short-run model. They modified the dial to be day / date, and it has different text and dial foot position, but these dials started life as a Daini-made 62mas dial blank.

  • Automatic winding 5126a movement is fully serviced and I just went back into it this morning to check it over.

  • English day only, with no day quickset (setting the day is done by running the time over midnight).

  • Date quickset via pressing the crown works exactly as it should

  • Case finish is entirely original - there are swirlies and signs of wear, but no abuse

  • Original crystal has one mark

  • Rotating ring smoothly turns 360º in both directions

  • Hand metal is beautiful, as are the marker tops. Only small places with haze.
