Seiko 6306-7001, July '79. JDM diver, fully serviced & ready to go
This is a complete and original Seiko 6306-7001, made in July 1979 (97xxxx serial). This is the JDM version of the famous so-called “turtle” 6309-704x. The 6306 had four added jewels (two diafix settings in the train bridge) and hacking. The daywheel languages are Kanji & English.
I fully serviced this watch three weeks ago - it got everything including both upper AND lower mainspring arbor jewels, so this watch is a 23-jewel now. Six-month warranty from date of purchase.
Movement serviced and is accurate & strong. Clean amplitude in the 260s with zero beat error, flat accuracy.
Upper & lower mainspring arbor jewels are installed
New 613x chronograph mainspring (stiffer, higher amplitude)
Hacks as it should
Date and day quickset works as it should.
Original dial in excellent condition
Dial lume is original, in the light butter tan, and is unusual in that when the lume plots were printed (these are screen-printed) the printing machine had a slight overload of lume mix. As a result, the lume plots are slightly blobby to the sides, not quite even. This is most noticeable on the 12-marker on the right side. The lume is in perfect functional condition. It isn’t damaged or degraded in any way. It just got printed with extra material. See photos.
Handset metal is immaculate, hand lume is white & clean. Sweep hand lollipop lume is slightly toned towards tan.
Case has not been polished - original with signs of wear. Brushing is present, edges are sharp.
Caseback has some tool marks.
Insert has wear but is original in all respects.
Case is fully cleaned and shiny. No pitting or damage to sealing surfaces. New seals.
New KVW hardlex 320W34GA00 crystal.
Crown threads and crown tube threads are excellent. 3+ finger turns to seat, smooth threading.
Watch only - no box or papers.
